Do not Treat the Toys as Non-fashion!

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

After the cross-border cooperation, the fashion toys successfully turned magnificently and into the adult world with the form of art. Although the name of toy is easy to arouse the sense of contempt, but it is hard to ignore the value behind the fashion toys which originated from Hong Kong and popular in Europe. The Urban Vinyl and Designer Toys undoubtedly brought a brand-new artistic platform for the designers and transferred the 2D works into 3D image.

The Gardeners and Urban Vinyl originated from the 90s of last century and launched as the cross-border form by the international toy manufacturer and design industry jointly. It attaches rich and new experimental style and artistic value to the toy dolls in the hands of the numerous designers of distinct personalities. These doll toys which originally focused on the anime subject and have heavy commercial taste now gradually evolved into an important branch of urban pop culture keeping peace with hip-pop, pot shoes, LOMO and animation.

The design of Urban Vinyl must be unique. In fact, to tall it toy is neither fair nor reasonable. Urban Vinyl is not designed for people to play. It is real work of art, instead of the replication of some popular form before. For this kind of toy, the carving techniques and designs are the most important quality measure standards. Compared to the plastic materials, polyethylene is moisture resistant, tough and not lack of flexibility. The polyethylene can be molded into transparent, translucent or colorful. And the biggest advantage compared to the ordinary plastic is its low price.

Finger Trips

Architecture RingsAll women love fashion, all these catwalk styles are just gorgeous, but most of them we can’t wear daily. And all these luxury accessories are really amazing, but we can’t afford them and they might be too much for daily wear too. So why shouldn’t we try something different, not luxury fashion designer pieces, but interestingly weirdly designed gadgets. Check out these fun Architecture Rings.

How close can you be to Paris, New York and Moscow? When came into the same question, my answer may seem quite surprising: one finger‘s distance only. Look at these Architecture Rings designed by Philipe Tournaire, each of them features a famous project around the world and therefore to make you part of Paris, New York and Moscow, too. Yeah, that feels good.

They of course wouldn’t be as stunning as a Tiffany ring, but they do have a different sense that worth a second look. Having these little constructions on your fingers is quite a funny thing, and I hope you enjoy the “finger trips”.

The photoshoot Darker is the Memory nicely shows the the feminine seductive of black lace.

Mario Sorrenti and Raquel Zimmermann go on location once again for the October issue of Vogue Nippon. Set in Naples, Italy, the photographer and model pairing navigate the streets as Raquel dons monochromatic ensembles styled by George Cortina. Featuring the work of Givenchy, Emilio Pucci, Balmain and more, Raquel plays a tormented soul in Darker is the Memory.

This editorial can’t really be called ethereal, but the black lace look is really amazing, totally appealing!

The Scarves to Love

Hermes colette brides de galaWhat’re the best we love about Hermes? Bags and scarves! As we all love Hermes Birkin and Kelly, we also love their very most feminine silk scarves too. They’re soft and gorgeous, and they mean really a lot to a woman, likely the best gift women can ever get! Here’s some news about our favorite silk scarves.

Hermès intends to “getting down with the kids”. The august label—which usually prefers to keep its own counsel—is launching an exclusive collaboration with Colette this fall. What’s more, it’s jazzing up one of the most classic offerings in its repertoire: le carré, or silk scarf.

Bali Barret, Hermès’ artistic director of silk—yes, they have one of those—designed a series of exclusive new designs for the scarves, in bold contrast colors and mash-up pattern prints. All the better to proclaim (as the collection’s title has it), “J’Aime Mon Carré.”

Hermes colette patchThey’ll be available from September 27 to October 16 at the Paris boutique, but if you can’t wait, www.jaimemoncarre.com launches later this summer, to document carré events and trace scarf lore at a series of events staged from the Czech Republic to Australia. And speaking of getting down with the kids—the house even commissioned photographer Matt Irwin to travel to four cities (New York, London, Paris, and Tokyo) to capture the scarf in situ for a carré ‘zine.

Well, how do you feel about this? Me, I’m totally excited to hear this, just can’t wait to see how these gorgeous will turn out to be, and I’m pretty looking forward to see those interesting photos too!

What’s an Adapter? Wrapped in a Stylish Case BUT $450?

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Yves Saint Laurent’s Travel AdapterTravel is something we all enjoy and we actually wish we could always be able to take a nice trip. Then here comes the problem, we have to do a lot of preparation work in order to have a nice trip, this is the tricky part, digital gadgets are really important in our life nowadays, so we really need an nice adapter to get all these electrical stuff working. The question is where to find the perfect one for us.

To a fashion girl, a perfect travel adapter is an accessory as essential as the perfect black pump. After all, when abroad, whether at European shows, or exotic beautiful places, who are we without our iPhones, digital cameras, laptops, Treos, or straightening irons? And what are all these fabulous gadgets worth if they are not charged or at least plug-in-able?

The answer is quite simple, the trip will just become a fashion catastrophe.

So as you can see, to prevent such a catastrophe, it is very important to be prepared in the electronic-accessory department. But until now, it was impossible to do so fashionably. Therefore, imagine how delight I was when YSL showed us their new adapter and superstylish case! But then the problem comes right after, the price is $450!

$450 adapter. Seriously? Vogue’s Senior Accessories Editor “can’t imagine [her] life without one.” We assume you’re paying for the pink leather pouch (that’s really really cute and stylish though), but we bet they added on an extra $100 just because it’s stamped with the house’s logo.

Anyway, nice choice if you’ve got that budget for a single adapter, if not, just see how far fashion can reach to!
