Harper’s shirt up on shelves

t-shirtEver thought about wearing a shirt made by some kind of musician? And the fact that it might look really good? Accept it , this is the world we live in, odd things could happen under wonderful covers.

Back in 2008 when we heard that David Arquette was getting into the fashion business with Ben Harper, we were mildly wary of what the outcome might be, for fairly obvious sartorial reasons. And while we’re huge fans of Harper’s music, we weren’t thinking a clothing company would be his next move.

As it turned out, they partnered up with a good design team and we ended up really liking lots of the resulting pieces, especially the denim. And of course they get press due to their celebrity and their famous friends but we like that they don’t try to regularly pimp themselves out.But they are indeed still celebrities and celebrities like their causes—not that that’s a bad thing at all. Just stating the facts.

Starting last Friday, Proprietors will be selling this T-shirt to raise money for the Save Darfur Coalition. They held an event at their storein Venice, CA where everything was 10% off. Their boutique neighbor Jexy was also joined in on the discounting. So have you got some fabulous stuff at some pretty good price. And if you’re freezing back east with us, you can also pick up a shirt on line.

How To Wear Leggings

leggings

Honestly, I really used to hate leggings. They’re usually ridiculously tight and uncomfortable. And I thought they looked ridiculous on most girls who used the glorified stockings as an alternative to pants.  Of course, with time, the testament of the eighties grew on me and I came to appreciate the thinner, American Apparel addicted silhouettes that were making down the streets of New York like many more girls today.

But how does the fashionably forward wear leggings today, now that most of the city has adopted a pants-free attitude? How to look fashionable without looking like an American apparel reject? Here’s one example of a new way to wear the fashion staple.

Companied with a proper shirt now your leggings can make you look like you’ve just come off the set of a S&M film. This looks like more than just fashion, it feels good and casual that can be weared in most occasions(except for fancy balls which might require a fancy dress).  However, I’m really in love with this look. (On the model -  Brains on Fire’s cotton T-shirt and Superfine’s cotton and elastane jeans. Ksubi sunglasses; Don the Verb scarf; CC Skye clutch.)

So, what do you think about leggings and how do you wear them?
