Tiffany & Co. to Design Glamorous Handbags

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Tiffany & Co HandbagHandbags is a forever great topic for women. No matter how many bags we have, we can just never stop searching for a nicer one (or simply a different one). And jewelry is another favorite of all women, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry appeals to us greatly, literally every women love them. So, how glamorous it will be if combine the two favorites together! The news today is that it seems Tiffany & Co. wants to have a try to design handbag line.

When Tiffany acquired the bankrupt Lambertson Truex, we did not envision that these lovely bags would be the end result. Sure Lambertson had a decade-long history of luxury bags, but could they transition the high-end jewelry retailer into this market?

The union may have been questionable at first, but the pairing has brought about beautiful bags with an ‘it’ bag factor. These handbags come in various styles, shapes and sizes, but the above is our favorite. Sure they’re stylish and sleek, but never under-estimate the Tiffany blue element. Say hello to the Lyn clutch, this may be our first meeting, but the odds are good that we will be seeing them about town soon.

Shinning, glamorous and elegant, all you would ask for a clutch, the Tiffany & Co. new handbag line is totally awesome, love the stunning clutches!

Luxury Goods Might Disappear at Costco

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Louis Vuitton & Chanel at CostcoWe all love Chanel classic flap bags and Louis Vuitton Speedy bags as well, but as poor as me always find these luxury bags are really kinda out of reach. So you might can imagine how delight I was to see the Chanel LV beauties at Costco, however now comes the new that Costco might not be selling them for much longer.

You know how Costco ‘occasionally’ sells Chanel and Louis Vuitton bags? Well, they might have to stop, if luxury brands like Omega have anything do with it.

The warehouse club is taking the Swiss watchmaker to the Supreme Court, appealing a lower court ruling that said Omega had the right to control who bought its products in the grey–or secondary–market.

The grey market, which is something luxury brands don’t like to talk about, is where lots of leftover product goes. There’s a secondary seller who buys it from the luxury brands at a major discount–that seller then passes it offer to discount retailers. It doesn’t happen often, because luxury brands tend to burn or melt their extra/imperfect stock, but it does happen. And that’s how and where poor people can finally afford a Chanel.

In related news, the European Commission has released a set of rules that say luxury goods makers can block Internet-only retailers from shilling their goods. eBay, which boasts the biggest second-hand luxury market in the world, could be severely affected by this.

Luxury goods makers might think they’ll benefit from tighter control, but will they? Do discount retailers really tarnish a brand?

Well, honestly I’m not so sure about that. I actually think this market is quite sweet to the poor, and I’m pretty sure it won’t affect the rich to reach for the latest design bags. Anyway, how do you think?
