Naomi Campbell Teamed Up With Dolce & Gabbana for Charity

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Naomi Campbell and Dolce & Gabbana Design T-Shirts for CharityCharity is one of the hottest topics in fashion, and a very good one too. The fashion world seems to have made a lot from the society, so it seems that everyone do look forward to the celebrities to show their kindness in charity and to take their responsibility too. So it is really breaking news that fashion world always teams up for charity, and this time Naomi Campbell and Dolce & Gabbana design T-Shirts for charity. Despite my personal feelings about the supermodel (and it’s really nothing), this is really great news.

Naomi Campbell and Dolce & Gabbana have collaborated on a collection of 14 T-shirts for charity. Each tee has an image of the supermodel that was captured by some of the most acclaimed fashion photographers, like David La Chapelle, Patrick Demarchelier, Steven Meisel and Paolo Roversi to name a few.

Fashion for Relief is Campbell’s charity, and it raise funds whenever an urgent need arises globally. This organization mobilizes the fashion industry from within to help society at large. You can get a signed tee from the supermodel at Fashion’s Night Out on September 10th at Dolce & Gabbana’s Madison Avenue store in New York City. They will be sold for $200 each, but remember that the proceeds will go to a worthy cause.

I love the tees and the gift wrap is so nice and sweet, and it’s for charity! We love fashion all the way, and we love it even more when it comes to charity!

Something About Oprah and Naomi Campbell

Friday, April 30th, 2010

Naomi Campbell OprahIf there’s one person in front of the camera looks like a queen, and like when on stage she’s got the power to make you her people, then it must be Oprah. If there’s one person who is gorgeous and super fashion in front of a camera or not, but barely had any reputation, then it might be Naomi Campbell. Well, do you agree with this?

Anyway, here’s a story of the two together, and Oprah made Naomi Campbell promise not to throw her phone.

Oprah should feature all fashion people from now until the Met Ball, but she’s at least landed an interview with Naomi Campbell.

The supermodel filmed her spot yesterday afternoon, and Oprah managed to get her to sign a “No Phone Throwing Zone” pledge in front of a live audience. It’s a spoof off of Oprah’s No Phone Zone pledge, in which she gets people to pledge not to use their cell phones when driving. Naomi had to sign that one, too, though we doubt she drives herself anywhere.

Oprah also asked Naomi about last week’s blood diamond incident in which the model was accused of accepting a blood diamond from former Liberian President Charles Taylor years ago.

Well, there’s going to be a nice story, just make sure you don’t miss it. Tune in Monday for the episode.

Naomi Campbell WANTED by Police

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Naomi CampbellYes, celebrity scandals again! No surprise that NY police are after supermodel Naomi Campbell’ass again, she just never learn her lessons right?

Fresh out of the public’s good graces from hosting Fashion for Relief charity catwalk shows for Haiti, Naomi is now (potentially) in trouble with the law again. The supermodel hit the driver of her Cadillac Escalade while travelling through Midtown New York on Tuesday, according to police. When the driver pulled over, Campbell reportedly jumped out of the car and fled.

The driver was then left with a bruise under his eye from hitting the steering wheel, police said. Campbell, who has pleaded guilty to assault charges twice during the past three years, had not been located by Tuesday evening, and no charges had been filed at that point. “There shouldn’t be a rush to judgment,” Jeff Raymond, a spokesman for Campbell, said. “Naomi will cooperate voluntarily, and there is more to the story than meets the eye.”

Well, truth or not, I just want to say: Luckily for Naomi, prison chic is in!

Hope for Haiti

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

fashion show for HaitiPeople live separately everyday, and we’re used to say that fashion is cold and little-humanity. But when disaster comes, we do bound together, and anyway the fashion world is do her job now! Parties aren’t enough, Fashion’s now throwing its own version of Hope for Haiti, gathering its A-list stars for a London Fashion Week show.

Naomi Campbell and First Lady Sarah Brown will stage a charity show on February 18th, just the night before LFW officially starts. They’ve already landed dresses from Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood and Dolce &Gabbana, apparently they’re still building a roster of celebrities and models to walk the runway. How exactly they’ll make buckets of money to send to Haiti remains to be unmentioned.

At the mean time, this Saturday, DecadesTwo is hosting their annual shoe sale and sending a chunk of the profits to Haiti via Artists for Peace and Justice. Everything — Louboutin, Alaia, Prada, McQueen, Marc — sells for under $150 from 9am to 6pm at the store (8214 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles). And if instead of buying shoes you want to donate your old ones, drop them off at Sigerson Morrison (in New York, LA, or Palm Beach). They’ll give you 15% off their Spring collection, donate your shoes via Soles4Souls and match your pair with one more.

Just, you know, do something for Haiti! Showing that there’s still warm sunshine in such a disaster!
