Naomi Campbell Teamed Up With Dolce & Gabbana for Charity

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Naomi Campbell and Dolce & Gabbana Design T-Shirts for CharityCharity is one of the hottest topics in fashion, and a very good one too. The fashion world seems to have made a lot from the society, so it seems that everyone do look forward to the celebrities to show their kindness in charity and to take their responsibility too. So it is really breaking news that fashion world always teams up for charity, and this time Naomi Campbell and Dolce & Gabbana design T-Shirts for charity. Despite my personal feelings about the supermodel (and it’s really nothing), this is really great news.

Naomi Campbell and Dolce & Gabbana have collaborated on a collection of 14 T-shirts for charity. Each tee has an image of the supermodel that was captured by some of the most acclaimed fashion photographers, like David La Chapelle, Patrick Demarchelier, Steven Meisel and Paolo Roversi to name a few.

Fashion for Relief is Campbell’s charity, and it raise funds whenever an urgent need arises globally. This organization mobilizes the fashion industry from within to help society at large. You can get a signed tee from the supermodel at Fashion’s Night Out on September 10th at Dolce & Gabbana’s Madison Avenue store in New York City. They will be sold for $200 each, but remember that the proceeds will go to a worthy cause.

I love the tees and the gift wrap is so nice and sweet, and it’s for charity! We love fashion all the way, and we love it even more when it comes to charity!

Born HIV Free

Jean Paul Gaultier Designs T-Shirt for CharityCharity is always a nice topic in fashion, and it’s nice thing. So we can always hear that fashion world cares for the weak, and we see lots of beautiful clothes designed for charity. And as we all care about the HIV kids, so here’s Jean Paul Gaultier to design t-shirt for charity.

Jean Paul Gaultier has designed a limited-edition T-shirt for the Born HIV Free campaign. The Global Fund’s new campaign is aimed at getting out the message that “… no child should be born with HIV…,” says Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. Bruni-Sarkozy is not only the First Lady of France, she is also the ambassador for the charity. It makes perfect sense that she would be the face of the campaign, and she urges us to get involved in a public service announcement.

Let’s face it, the tee is pretty awesome, and the cause, life-saving. This is totally a good thing, hopefully this will really do some help to the kids.

Collaboration for Tees

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Ellen HarveyOK, everyone loves t-shirts, for they’re casual, beautiful and versatile. So almost anytime in a year we’d love to wear tees, soft and comfortable, with gorgeous decorations. If you love tees like I do, then here’s great news: Adam Lippes collaborates with Whitney artists and Gilt sells the results.

I spent last night at Adam Lippes’ fabulous penthouse apartment in Greenwich Village. The occasion? We (and when I say we, I mean myself plus a very smart-looking crowd, including Meredith Melling Burke, lovely in an pleated pumpkin-colored maxi dress) were invited to celebrate Lippes’ t-shirt collaboration with four young artists selected by the Whitney–Matthew Brannon, EV Day, Ellen Harvey and Phoebe Washburn. The tees, $48-$68, will go on sale this Thursday at noon on Gilt.com.

Guests mingled amongst the Dash Snows and the Alexander Calder (I only saw one, but there may have been more), admiring Lippes’ cool collection of art, as well as the t-shirts these four artists had designed for his brand. Brannon, who was there to celebrate, got to see his work shown off by the waitstaff. All in all, it was a lovely evening for a lovely cause: A percentage of the sale’s proceeds will go to the Whitney Museum of Art, where Lippes is a co-chair.

The tees will also be on sale at the ADAM boutique and the Whitney store, but for a higher price. Per usual, it’s worth logging onto Gilt if you want to get your hands on one. Hope you all like these gorgeous tees.

Toy Story on Tees

Friday, June 18th, 2010

Animation movies are really popular these days, good for Disney, and now good for fashion too. Since we always know that animations are more appropriate to make peripheral products, fashion products. So the good news comes with the release of the film “Toy Story 3″ is that: Jonathan Saunders and Costello Tagliapietra Design Tees for Toy Story 3.

If your first thought when you saw this was “huh?” don’t worry, it was our first reaction, too.

But it’s true: Disney has gone designer. Jonathan Saunders, Costello Tagliapietra, Victor Glemaud, Henry Holland, and Cassette Playa have each designed a tee based on a Toy Story 3 character just in advance of the film’s release today.

It’s high brow fashion for a low brow flick. But if these (awesome) tees can help some fashion darlings reach Disney’s mass market, more power to them. The tops are $70-$108 at RevolveClothing.com.

So are you a Buzz, Rex, or Woody? Me? I pretty much love them all, if I have to pick just one favorite, it’s Jessie I guess.

hair shirt

When I first saw these t-shirts I was really shocked, that’s really a good idea and  actually useful to girls lately, for fashion girls always want to change their hair styles and even hair length. With these t-shirts you’ll never be bored with your hair any more!

Having long hair is some sort of  many girl’s dream, (althogh sometimes we do admire efficient neat short hair).  Inspired by some friend, who wished to own long and thick hair, a Japanese designer implemented  hair graphics printed on t-shirt to produce visual effects of extending hair length and volume.  This t-shirt series is designed to help girls achieve their wishes through an easy and fun way. And you can always change your hair style simply by buying a new t-shirt!

And here’s another amazing thing about these t-shirts, according to the designer these shirts are all painted with “Pigment Textile” , an Environmental Friendly Ink from Japan. So why waste your money buying periwig? Just buy a special t-shirts and I’ve done one good thing for the earth!
